PASRO seeks to recognize excellence in the field of the School Resource Officer and school-based policing at the 2024 School Safety Conference in Harrisburg, PA. Below is a description of the awards, which will be presented:
Sgt. Mike Hayes School Resource Officer of the Year Award
This award recognizes an SRO that has made a specific and significant contribution to their local town, city, county, and/or school district. Their peers, supervisors, school/school district, student, and faculty nominate these honorees.
Ambassador For School Safety Award
This award is presented to an individual for continuous and sustained service to the school community above and beyond that expected of a normal SRO, SPO, SSO, school staff member or other school related partnership.
President’s Award Safe School Leadership Award
This award is presented to an individual that is willing to support and further develop the SRO partnership, exemplify leadership, innovation, dedication, and proactive measures to enhance the safety of the school community.
Nomination deadline is June 1, 2024 at 5:00 PM (EST) The PASRO Board of Directors will decide award recipients at their June meeting.
